Pay what you can meals

femmevox | Mar 19, 201505:04 PM

Recently I've been volunteering as a cook at the Saturday night Community Kitchen at the Haley House Bakery Cafe in Boston.
This is a three or four meal created by volunteers (one paid chef) with donated ingredients. The cafe asks $10 if people can pay, but it's all in a secret envelope, and no one is turned away.

We've been putting out some awesome spreads!

I know of one other cafe like this--Stone Soup in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Anyone been there and care to comment?

Do you know of other cafes/restaurants/community meals? I'm not talking soup kitchens/free meals here, but events that strive to attract both paying and non paying customers.
