Paulie's Pizza Reno

RevrendAndy | May 30, 201405:51 PM     1

After a long trip west my car needed a serious wash at Franktown car wash. Since I had to wait awhile I decided to check out Paulie's Pizza in the shopping center next door. Paulie himself gregariously greeted me and asked what I was interested in eating. When I said wings he was glowing and said he's from Buffalo and his wings are just as you would get at the Anchor Bar, which is where the wing craze started. He also said he a great thin pizza, which is what I've really missed in Chicago( always preferred thin to deep dish).

The pepperoni slice arrived first and I liked it. The crust was thin and crispy and the top was oozing with cheese and red sauce. Just my style. My only critique was that the sauce was a bit sweet, however I still thorougly enjoyed it.

The wings were great. They were on the small size but the skin was crispy even though they arrived bathed in a delicious homemade hot sauce, which of course he wouldn't divulge. The meat was moist. It's the real deal.

Don't go for the atmosphere as it's a spartan kind of a sports bar. They do have a full bar. However, if you've got a jones for great wings and/or thin pizza, it's a good choice.
