Some of you may have come by between Oct. 17 and Nov. 17 and found us closed. We apologize. There was a complaint about noise from a neighbor or two (it was a dicey two weeks near People's Park in early October), so Berkeley came by with not only health inspectors, but ABC people and building inspectors. They shut us down until we came up to code, and we decided to paint and put some new furniture in the indoor dining space as long as we had the opportunity.
We're open again, but with reduced hours of operation as mandated by the City of Berkeley. Our new hours are Monday-Saturday, Noon to 8:30. We know that this will cut into our revenue, but what's done is done.
To help compensate, we have reduced the number of bottled beers (we won't be able to carry the inventory based on projected sales), and we have increased the number food items. The Lamb Sandwich, which many of you have reportedly liked, is now on the regular menu, and we have added Pork BBQ and Beef BBQ, plus a few specials we are trying out. The Jambalaya is off the menu, but Alex may bring it back when the weather turns inclement.
Look... be honest with us when you come in. If you loved it, say so... if you think it needs improvement, give us a recommendation. Both Alex and I believe that The Patio is the customers' business, and that we are there to steward it.
Cheers to all you Chowhounds!
