Pastry Cream with 2% milk?

With strawberries now in season (yay) I just bought fresh ones for a strawberry tart, the standard kind with pastry cream. However I realized I only have 2% milk -- it's the farm fresh kind in the glass bottle, and it's incredibly rich for 2%, but still, I'm wondering if I'll still come out with decent pasty cream without whole milk? Only ever done it with full fat and don't want to go through the effort if it won't be as good, but if the difference won't be huge than I'll probably give it a go.
