Pasta with a Chlorine Taste? (Buca/Louise's/San Gennaro)

PW | May 21, 2004 02:35 PM

Okay, I'm mostly a lurker here but I've got to ask this question:

Anybody ever notice a chlorine taste to pastas in certain restaurants? I've tasted it in Buca, Louise's, and San Gennaro and have been afraid to go back ever since.

I realise it's probably just LA County re-chlorinating the water but I found it to be disgusting in restaurant food.

Is this common or did I just get unlucky and hit the trifecta?

(BTW, I've NEVER tasted chlorine in any food from Giovanni's or Guido's)
