Passage to India Vegetarian Cuisine & Bakery any good?

ash_bayarea | Jul 8, 200301:56 PM

I have been to the old "passgae to india" restaurant 3 years ago on 1100 W. El Camino Real. Their food was nothing remarkable at that time, pricey and catered towards people who did not understand indian cuisine. recently, they have opened a new vegetarian restaurant and bakery in that location and their All Vegetarian dinner buffet costs $9.95. They claim to serve desi (North Indian), South Indian (?) and Indian-Chinese food. Few questions:
1. Is it any good? Can any Chowhound recommend it?
2. Do they make any effort to make specialty items for the buffet or is it the customary Channa Masla, Aloo, palak stuff that we see in the run of the mill "indian" (punjabi style) restaurants?
3. Is Indian vegetarian food worth $9.95 ?
4. Any experiences to share?

Thanks,
