Once again, a great meal.
Endive and Roquefort salad was delicious. Rich blue cheese, offset by the bitterness of the endive.
Special was a New York steak with sautéed onions and a white wine reduction, served with crispy shoestring potatoes. The meat was cooked perfectly to order. It was tender, yet held its body. And the sauce was outstanding.
Cheese course was selected from a tray with about 20 different cheeses. We got a combination of 5 cheeses to share. They were served with grilled slices of baguette. I loved the cheeses, but didnt particularly care for the grilled bread. The grilled side was burned, and the flavor of the burn totally overwhelmed the cheeses, even the rank stinky cheese. But once I knew this, I just stopped eating the bread and focused on the cheese.
Dessert was a fruit soup containing blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, orange slices, a scoop of sherbet and a fruit-based cold broth. Very good, and refreshing.
Service was attentive but not overly so. There were only 2 other tables occupied in the place, so we pretty much had the run of the place.
