Rehearsals for "Into the Woods" are going so well that to celebrate, I've invited everyone over (16-18 people) for a late afternoon party on Sunday, 3-7 p.m., before rehearsal that evening.
Some people will probably bring wine, but this is not going to be a drinking party so we can be on top of our game for the evening's run-through.
My ideas so far are:
Bagna cauda with cut up veggies
Bruschetta toppings on toasted baguette
A cheese plate (using the baguette again)
Chips and guacamole/salsa
And for dessert, Nigella's brownies from "Domestic Goddess." Mmmm.
For a main, I was considering grilling, but it's supposed to rain and I don't want my husband laboring in the wet. The slow-roasted pork sandwiches from Bon Appetit looked really good (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/rec...) but it looks like I'd have to make two pork shoulders. I have one roasting pan.
Should I put out a plate of cold cuts, rolls and other toppings and let people go for it? I'd really love to have something warm that can easily serve this many people. Maybe chili?
Thanks for your help!!
