I looked in vain for the tiny thai beef noodle stall at this mall that I loved once a upon a time. Don't know if it has morphed into a restaurant there, the picture of the noodles there didn't look right.
The mee siam at this food court is one of my aunt's favourite. Good sauce, sour with tamarind. Fairly good sambal, and generous rice noodles with plenty of the standard fixings: slices of boiled egg, bean sprouts, bean curd (tau gua variety).
Nearby is Koo Kee Dumpling and Noodles. Great hand-pulled noodles - resilient to the chopsticks, tender to the tooth. Got ours in a reasonable hot and sour soup.
Xiao long bao is ok - tender skin, fine meat filling but not folded and sealed with much care and very little broth inside. Guo tie/potstickers are excellent - beautiful crispy crust at the bottom. The potstickerized version of xlb, called shiu jian bao, is pricey and not particularly good.
Stewed/boiled beef from the north (jiang niu rou) bears many wavy lines of tender, chewy tendon/fat. Very good.
Very thin chrysanthemum tea.
Stick with the excellent potstickers and handpulled noodles.
