Parker House in Washougal

Newly remodeled restaurant in Washougal- has been closed for quite a few years.

The food was mixed. Rib-eye steak was excellent, as were mussel appetizers. Ahi filet was pretty bad- definitely frozen/thawed, and not too gently. All were served with garlic mashed potatoes had a nice flavor, but seemed like they had been sitting around for a few hours.

Appetizers (artichoke dip) was delightful- but while there was plenty of dip, not enough bread to serve 4.

The place is expensive- entree $28- which includes nothing. Another $6 for a side salad..easily gets you to $40/person without wine or dessert.

Service was not even close to what it needed to be to support this kind of price. Drinks took 15 minutes to get to the table- and it was over an hour between ordering and food delivery. Despite numerous "I'm sorry, we're still learning" visits by the waiter- nothing was done to mitigate the poor service- like maybe a free coffee or something?

In short, some of the food was terrific, some of it was barely acceptable, and some of it was quite horrible. The service, while friendly, was in no way acceptable for this level of pricing.

Might go back in a few months to see if they got their act together...but probably not. At this price level, there are just too many restaurants that have their act together.
