Parisian Themed Cocktail Party -- Help Needed!

Hi all,

I am throwing a party to celebrate the engagement of two close friends. As they are going to Paris for their honeymoon, I thought a Parisian theme would be fun for the engagement celebration.

However, I'm coming up short on ideas. It will be a cocktail party with finger food for around 50 guests. And, one BIG caveat is that my oven is on the fritz, so no last minute baked dishes (I can use an oven earlier in the day if I want to do a quiche, or the like, but nothing that needs to be heated up right before serving unless it can be done in the toaster oven or on the stove top).

So far, I'm going to do some nice french cheeses and and baguettes, pate, and olives.

I'm also considering doing escargot, but not sure I can swing it w/out the oven.

There is a puff pastry w/roquefort hors d'oevres recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking that I may go for, too.

For drinks, we'll have champagne and french martinis.

Given the number of people, I'm thinking, in addition to the cheese plate and pate, I'll want 4-5 more dishes.

Thanks for any recipes or menu ideas you can share with me! Usually, I'm good at this kind of thing, but this theme has got me a little stumped!
