I'm heading to Paris next week, and while we have some reservations, there are a few holes in the itinerary that I hoped some of you could help me with. As background, this is my third visit to Paris, and while I only speak some French (but I know a lot of food words!) I'll be with friends, one of whom is fluent (though he'll only be with us some of the time) one who gets by (she recently moved to Paris), and the other speaks no French. We're planning on really only one big meal a day, and having our other meals be bread/cheese/croissant/pastry based (so if there are any great recommendations for any of those, please chime in!). We will be staying in Le Marais. Also, in the last day in Paris I'll be by myself.
The current plan:
Monday night: dinner at Chez Denise (tentative)
Tuesday night: dinner at L'Ami Jean
Wednesday: lunch at Tallievant
Thursday night: dinner at Mon Vieil Ami
And Friday and Saturday there are so far no concrete plans. Here are some of the places that interested me, after searching on this board and looking around elsewhere:
Le Gourmet des Ternes
La Bourse ou la Vie
Le Bistrot Paul Bert
Huitreie Regis (possibly just for a mid day oyster snack)
Feedback on any of the above? Looking at what we already have planned, are any of them too similar, and should therefore be eliminated, or put on the back burner? Would any be a good idea for (a relatively light) lunch on Friday? Also, would any be better or a more fun experience as a solo diner on Saturday night?
Thanks so much for any help that you can give me!
