Have been reviewing the board traffic on Paris restaurants, and have about 100 suggestions for a four day trip there in late October. Thought that it may be useful for me to explain what I'm looking for perchance that someone could hit the nail on the head for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
* I'd like to experience one night of superlative French cuisine, the French equivilent of going to my NYC fave Per Se -- which is to say that I'm not against dropping major $$ on brilliantly executed food, but very much against spending money on hype or tourist joints. As an added complexity, since my girlfriend has never been to Paris, would like a place that has a major visual impact.
* Would like to sample an up and coming restaurant, preferably French, that may be overlooked if you do research through the typical sources. Doesn't need to be pricey (but can be), but should be something memorable.
Final question: My French is enthusiatic but extremely limited. Will this be a major hindrance in my dining plan?
