Paris, redux

Ellen | Sep 1, 2004 04:43 PM

I have a Saturday evening stopover in Paris with a friend before we fly out Sunday. We're willing to blow some bucks on a great dinner (won't be back in time for lunch), within some vague and constantly shifting definition of reason. I tried to get a reservation at Guy Savoy, no dice. Joe H. wants me to go to Le Cinq but that's even more expensive than Savoy! We'll both be a lot more comfortable with something closer to $200 pp rather than $400 and plan to look at the low end of the wine list to help us accomplish that. Jamin sounded great but is not open Saturdays, so I'm now looking at Relais d'Auteuil, Le Meurice, or even Petrossian but haven't seen any comments about it on this board. The prior week I'll have dinner at Violon, among others. I really do appreciate the feedback everyone provided on my previous post about this. Thoughts?
