Hello:

I am planning a trip to Paris in early April. I have already read several of the postings on Chowhound for recommendations, but many places seem to be gourmet and expensive.

I am travelling on a relatively low-budget. I may stay at Hotel Notre-Dame (per a Chowhound recommendation) and will be near the Republique or Oberkampf stations. Does anyone have any recommendations for good yet inexpensive restaurants around this area or anywhere in Paris. I do not have much experience with French food but am willing to try new things (I probably wouldn't appreciate anything super-gourmet since my pallete is not that experienced)

Any other suggestions for special things not to miss in Paris are appreciated. It's my first time there. I'll be staying for about 8 days.

Thanks!
Justin
