What's new in Paris? It's been one hell of a rentree.

I always marvel about all the new restaurants that appear every few seasons here, but usually you don't expect places to open over the summer, but as a clever French colleague/friend pointed out to me, if you open in late June, July or even August rather than September, while every Frenchperson with a working brain is toasting his or her body on a beach it's the ideal time to open a restaurant in Paris. No critics, no swells, no well - no one important. The only people left are the "people " that is the youngest folks left to staff the offices, police stations, the stores and the transport systems. But they've got to eat and they are not going to totally eat baguettes on the street. So here's my take as we re-enter the Fall:
