Our parents are coming for the weekend and most of the weekend looks like it will revolve around food. We live in the West Village and would prefer to stick around that area, but could be persuaded into Chelsea or East Village. They are Catholic (I suppose that makes me one too) and won't eat meat on Friday. Not eating meat does not entail eating a vegetarian dish, this means they want fish. That aside please critique our food plans for the weekend.
Friday night- Still not sure. I am thinking about 50 pp at a seafood/italian/french place. Some options we thought of are Mermaid Inn, Red Cat, Osteria Del Sol? My mother is hard of hearing so it needs to be somewhere relatively quiet and slightly spaceous so we aren't eating with the table next to us.
Saturday brunch- Tea & Sympathy. We have gift certificates there so this is a definite. Any favorites on the menu?
Saturday dinner- Banjara in E. Village is an option. I thought if we do French/Italian on Friday we may want a more ethnic option on Saturday. Any ideas on that in W. Village? Also maybe a restuarant near a jazz club to take them to afterwards. Same price range of 50 pp.
Sunday Brunch- Five Points. Heard this is great.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
