Paradise Dynasty is a Singapore-based restaurant group. They operate restaurants in 9 countries and are best known for their rainbow-colored soup dumplings that you might’ve seen on social media. Eldwin Chua, Paradise Group CEO, came up with the idea while looking at the colorful macarons in Paris and thought, why not soup dumplings?
What’s so special about these highly insta-worthy dumplings? Each rainbow soup dumpling is delicately folded 18 times, weighs 25 grams, and is filled with clear broth. The lineup of filling includes truffle, foie gras, and crab roe, making those searching for more refined tastes salivating. Over the Labor Day holiday, the restaurant sold about 6,400 each day!
“Our soup dumplings are precisely weighed and filled with clear and non-greasy broth,” Eldwin says. “Guests will order a round of speciality dynasty xiao long bao but always follow up with an order of the original.”
So what’s there to try aside from the dumplings?
We recommend ordering the radish puff pastry for first-timers, a crispy outer layer filled with a shredded radish filling. Unfortunately, it’s getting more difficult to find this item on the menu in dim sum restaurants due to the complexity and difficulty to make.
Another would be the scrambled egg white with fish and fried scallop. Served with an egg yolk in the middle with fluffy and cloudy egg white. Not to mention the pan-fried pancakes with red pean paste are perfect for ending the meal on a sweet note.
And the ultimate secret? A surprise ramen shop situated in the Paradise restaurant basement. Le Shrimp Ramen. As the name suggests, this ramen shop serves up a rich and creamy shrimp broth with a smoky aroma. The signature item here is the Trio Shrimp ramen, including shrimp paste and handmade ramen noodles. Ramen lovers need to bookmark this!
Costa Mesa, CA, now holds the first Paradise Dynasty in the United States. Eldwin says big plans are to expand across the entire US. So you might be seeing new locations in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica or West Hollywood locations real soon.
