This is a large, sleek place off Jermantown Rd. that tries to look hip yet serve traditional food. All items can be ordered at diferent spice levels, with your choice of vegetable, lamb, goat, chicken, and tofu at different price levels. The formulaic menu is indeed part of a formula, as I found out later that PBP has over 40 locations around the country.
Despite the name of the place I went for a gongura that the menu proclaimed was from the Andhra province. This is a green leaf commonly served pickled.
I also ordered a peanut chaat. I was told the chef was from Nepal, and I know I've seen this chaat on Nepalese menus, though other places as well.
The gongura was a bit boring in its sourness. Unfortunately the peanut chaat was sour too, so it was not a good combo.
There are a lot of choices for Indian food in this area, just about everywhere you look. I'd only go back to try the biryani.
