I posted a while back about the fact that Pappo in Alameda is now serving brunch. I went with my sister and BIL and we were very pleased, particularly with all the baked goods. We were told that brunch was being run by their pastry chef, but I didn't realize who that was.
Today I found out: Donna Meadows (ex-Boniere Bakery, ex-Flying Saucer, ex-River Cafe NYC) is the woman behind the stove at brunch there. I was unhappy when I found she'd sold the Boniere, so I'm thrilled to realize she's still whipping up her treats in Alameda.
Now that the sun is shining, Pappo, with it's skylights and open front windows is really a lovely place for brunch.
