Papa Cristos

I went to Papa Cristos (NE corner of Pico and Normandie). It's an informal Greek place, mostly grilled meat, with a small Greek grocery as well. I got the "three lamb chops", and it was surprisingly excellent. The most common difficulty with lamb in restaurants, as has been analyzed here most eloquently, is wimpiness. Well, there was no wimpy lamb on my plate. It was a large serving of well-cooked meat with tons of lamb flavor. Also included was a small but good Greek salad, some good roasted potatoes, and an excellent loaf of soft, warm, buttery pita bread -- none of that worthless cardboard pita bread that you get at most places. The grocery isn't that interesting, but if you're after mass quantities of Greek olive oil or whatever then I'm sure it's the right place.
