This used to be my old go-to neighborhood favourite; then the food went downhill and I found greener pastures.
Anyway was there tonight & they are back up there. A new chef and more seafood featured on the menu. I had the white bean, rosemary and collard soup and it was excellent. The beans were soft and plump -cooked from scratch & the collards gave the soup a wonderful green tang. These were cooked at the last minute, as they weren't bitter. Kudos. Then I shared the bucatini Fra Diavolo. What can I say; the bucatini was al dente and the shrimp, mussels & fish cooked perfectly. The sauce was wonderful I wouldn't say spicy but then my idea of spicy is Indian spicy.
We finished up with dessert; ricotta pound cake. One of the best desserts I've had, it was light moist and had a marvelous hard sauce and served with candied walnuts, dates, apricots. Bliss. The only thing to avoid is the ghastly table white, while the Chilean red was very enjoyable. All and all a great meal. Glad to see them back.
