WOW! This is a great chowfind. I can't believe all the years that I have heard about it here and didn't go. We went for lunch today. I didn't eat breakfast so I was starved. Almost everyone had an order of wings but I was after the Country Fried Steak with Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. I also ordered a side of Fried Oysters with the most amazing spicy mayo. To drink I got the Root Beer Float which was brought with another glass of Root Beer to add as I went along. We also got a cup of Split Peas and Tortilla Soup. The soups were pretty good, not great but certainly worth trying. The Oysters were HUGE and it said 6 but I think I got 7 in the order. I had some soup, the Oysters and about 2/3rds of the Float and I was finished. The CF Steak came and my wife ate about half of the huge steak and most of the Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potato. She is a small eater so this was no small feat. I did taste it while it was fresh and it was very good. Real potatoes in the mashed and good cheese and flavor in the M&C. Our waitress was very efficient and made sure that she timed our order correctly and provided extra plates and spoons so that we could share everything. Bill for all this glutony (and 2/3 of the CF Steak still in the fridge) was $22.00. We will be back soon...maybe tomorrow. It is Freeway close to Marina Del Rey. Thanks Hounds for this one.
