I've been eating at Panchos in Great Neck for the past 17 years. It's been a reliable tex-mex place, very family friendly, reasonably price. Last week I went for dinner, and there was a slightly different menu (basically a few renamed dishes and a few old ones were no longer there) with much higher prices. Now, I'm all for regular price increases in restaurants, but I usually expect things to go up by a dollar, or two at the most for more expensive dishes. I didn't have an old menu for reference, but it seems like some prices went up by more than that. I'll still go to Panchos, maybe a little less often, but when I'm looking for a restaurant with entrees above the $20 price point, Panchos is not going to be the place I'll choose. I had dinner at Spice Market in the meatpacking district last weekend, and if you order judiciously, it can be cheaper than Pancho's. Something is wrong with this picture.
