On the recommendation from the Board, we tried Panahar last week. First off, I'm not at all an expert on Indian/Bangaladeshi cuisine. That being said I and my dining partner did find the food to be really delicious and service to be attentive. Owner is very engaging, probably because we were there on a slow weeknight. We started with an order of chicken shingaara, two to an order. Light and flaky with a nicely spiced mixture in the middle. I could eat a half dozen of these. For entrees we split an order of chicken shaag maag sho. The chicken, slightly dry, was my only complaint. The highlights were the vegetarian dishes. We had the shaag poneer and my favorite, niramish. A mix of cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, onions, etc. All of the vegetables maintained a nice firm texture, with subtle seasoning, unlike the goopy, overcooked oily dishes I've experienced at other indian restaurants. They do takeout and delivery. We had lots of food leftover to take home. I'm new to the area, so I plan on checking out some more indian restaurants in the area for comparison sake.
