After hearing about the frozen dumplings from "hyperbowler" and "KK", Foster City's Pan Kee was going to be my next stop for provisioning for shelter-in-place. But then I read that it shutdown at the end of May. Wanting to verify for myself, I called and was lucky to reach someone. The lady confirmed that the business had indeed closed. I asked what the plan was, perhaps relocating? In fact the owners are moving to Michigan, but she was unable to tell me the name of their new city. I noticed that its website was disabled a few days ago.

So, Michigan 'hounds, keep an eye out for an excellent handmade dumpling specialist coming your way.

Update: June 28, 3pm
Following up a lead today that Pan Kee shares ownership with San Jose's Famous Dumpling House, I called the latter and was told that was misinformation. Though Pan Kee is closed, I tried calling again and was redirected to Mr. Pan who says that he is looking for another restaurant site locally. Hate to disappoint those in Michigan. Who knows, maybe one of the cooks is moving there.
