Palo Alto – Jade Palace, Peking Duck, Mac’s By The Tracks

CYL | May 30, 2010 04:57 PM

Things are changing at the corner of California and Park Blvd. There is a Peking Duck Restaurant banner placed over the Jade Palace sign. Jade Palace is gone and the Peking Duck has suddenly moved into its spot after many years being at El Camino Real (Ming’s was at El Camino for many years too).

The spot that Peking Duck is moving into is tucked inside the building; it is not visible from outside on the streets. This very location has seen many restaurants come and go before. Years ago, popular Little Joe’s Restaurant moved into the spot all the way from Columbus Ave in San Francisco, but Little Joe’s did not last very long there. There was another Chinese restaurant before Jade Palace for a short time.

Next door from the corner, there is a sign posted at Mac’s By The Tracks, now indicating a July 2 Grand Opening Celebration, 3-6 pm, free appetizer, and live music. Will Mac’s make us forget Uncle Frank’s?

When the new Mac’s opens, more foot traffic will be attracted to the corner; Peking Duck should benefit from that.
