So about a month ago my wife and I went to Palmira's the relatively new Italian restaurant at the c/o Hicks and Clark in Brklyn Hgts. We werent looking for much but it was late and figured we'd give it a try since we both feel that Noodle Pudding has fallen way past acceptable.
Much to our suprise the food was great!, I had a pasta with escorole and White Bean and she had the Linguini Vongole. Both were cooked perfectly.
The one bad thing about the meal is that the place was uncomfortably empty.
So about 10 days later we decide we'll try it again, kinda not believing that it could have been good the 1st time (for those that dont know the location is HUGE and is layed out poorly so that the ambiance is more like a catering place or sports bar - its former incarnation, than a nice Italian Restaurant). Well it was great again, including terrific soup antipasti dish (meats and cheeses).
So finally last week we brought two couples, one of whom is 1st genration italian (and travels back numerous times a year and is real critical of italian food), figuring we'd see if we were crazy or not. Sure enough they loved it - and one of our friends ordered the Lasagna which was amazing (a real test of a restaurant if you ask me). We all agreed that its a shame that the location would probably doom it to failure, but until it goes out I really reccommend it.
