Palm Springs / Palm Desert Report

Just a few notes from our trip to the Palm Springs area:

Mama Gina's, Palm Desert: Fabulous Itali9an dining experience. Perfect drinks, terrific food, and some of the best service I've ever experienced in my life.

Azul, at La Quinta Resort: Amazing experience, very romantic. I was expecting lower-than average dining in an expensive and romantic setting, and while the setting exceeded my expectations, and the prices were what I expected, the food was a lot better than I thought it would be. If you're willing to pay the prices, I would recommend La Quinta resort to anyone looking for a great meal in a setting that is to die for.

Las Casuelas, in Palm Desert: someone recommended this place, and it pretty much sucked. Standard fare like you'll fine in a chain most anywhere. Mediocre drinks, poor service, huge place. Avoid if you're looking for a special place.

Shields Date Farm: Go for a date shake and/or fresh graprefruit juice. Recommended!
