Palm Springs & Palm Desert, opinions on past suggestions needed

Sweet Willie | Feb 2, 2003 11:55 AM

Read many chowhound reviews of the Palm Springs & Palm Desert area and have put together what looks promising (to me) from those posts.

Fortunately for me, the last time I was in the area and had not read Chowhound.com before going (shame on me), the hotel concierge recommended El Mirasol after I asked for a down to earth, non-pretentious restaurant, quite frankly I was looking a little shaggy after my motorcycle ride through Death Valley and she probably did not want to send me to the “fine” places w/her name.

El Mirasol was incredible and I will go back this next time.

From what I’ve gathered:

For Breakfast:
Rick's on palm canyon
Elmer's Pancake House
Don & Sweet Sue's Café
Louise's Pantry

For Dining:
St. James at the Vineyard
Riccio's on north palm canyon

Any comments or further suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Willie
