Just like sequels and prequels in the film business, clones in the restaurant biz seem to be irresistible to the originators of successful eateries. Recent notes on the new Palm in downtown LA are not favorable. Ditto 5 Feet in LA. Splichal seems to be the best at maintaining quality thru his expansions although Nick & Stef's has gotten some bad posts of late. Spoon in Paris gets low marks. Thoughts, dear hounds? Is there some sort of universal truth to be acknowledged? Any notable exceptions outside the fast food arena?
