We tried Palette for the first time this evening. Our experience was mostly positive. We had a few special needs which they cheerfully accommodated. When we arrived they were almost empty and filled up before we left. At capacity the restaurant was pretty noisy but not beyond the point of inhibiting our conversation.
The menu is very interesting with a nouveau twist on bistro dishes. We started with the honey wings which were wonderful as was the goat cheese salad. For entrees we all tried something different. I had the scallops over a potato pancake. My companions had the steak frites, the trout with potatoes and figs, and the lamb with tomato compote. With the exception of the steak and french fries, everything was terrific. The fries were oversalted (and we like salt)and the steak was of medium quality. The portions were large.
The service was fine except for one large snafu of serving some of our food to another table. They remedied the problem as soon as possible but it still meant that two of us finished eating before the rest were served their entrees.
The desserts sounded terrific but we were too full to partake. Overall a good experience and we will return.
