Last month I had a chance to stop by Paleteria Yum-Balúú in Watsonville. Unlike La Michoacana https://www.chowhound.com/post/la-mic..., the other Mexican ice cream spot in town, it does not make its own products. The ice creams and paletas come from La Original https://www.chowhound.com/post/la-ori... in San Jose.
My cajeta paleta was a bit icy on the surface. It will be important to look for the freshest product here. This was fine, but I like the fresher ice pops at the cross-town rival better.
