Paleteria La Michoacana in King City

Melanie Wong | Jul 30, 201108:11 PM     5

National Ice Cream Month ends tomorrow. I’ve had the chance to enjoy the offerings from Paleteria Y Neveria La Michoacana in King City a couple times. The ice creams and paletas are made in-house with all natural ingredients and flavors. The store is right on the main drag and has a few small tables in a courtyard for outdoor seating.

My first time I sampled several flavors of ice cream and especially liked the blueberry ice cream. More recently I enjoyed this Tutti frutti water paleta with a mix of fruits (and no cream). http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew...

The flavors are fresher than the big brands sold in the grocery stores and are not as candy-sweet. I like the more natural taste and higher fruit content at La Michoacana and feel it’s worth a detour any time you’re passing through King City.
