We visited Pacificana the other evening for the first time in a long time. Had a very nice steamed eggplant with minced pork and XO sauce from the house specials menu, acceptable pea shoots with garlic and an execrable salt baked squid. This latter was perfectly tender squid in a puffy batter, with no discernible sautee in chiles,ginger and salt and pepper (or even a bit of five spice) that makes salt baked and salt and pepper preparations so delicious. Instead this was a bit disgusting.
Any recommendation for any places that make a good version of this dish these days.
Also to note, they have a goose dish on the printed menu (not the online menu, tho they do have a goose web dish there). They didnt have it (nor did they have the south china duck casserole special) but it might be worth enquiring about for a special order.
