Paca or gibnut in Boston area?

BlakeGumprecht | Feb 3, 201607:32 AM

I teach a course on the Geography of Food at the University of New Hampshire. I'm preparing a short lecture of native meats of South America and have been reading about paca, sometimes also called gibnut, a rat-like rodent eaten through tropical Latin America. Apparently it is sometimes called the royal rodent because it was served to Queen Elizabeth when she visited Belize in 1985! What I read also says it's commonly consumed in Brazil. Given that Boston has a large Brazilian population and many Brazilian restaurants, I'm wondering if any Boston area restaurants serves paca (full name is agouti paca).

Does anybody know a restaurant in the Boston area that serves paca or an ethnic market that sells it?
