My husband and I have an overnight layover in Madrid (6pm - 7am) on our way from the Canary Islands to Rome. We had a similar layover last year, but didn't adequately research dinner options near our hotel and ended up snacking our way around San Miguel. While it was a fun experience, we'd like to go somewhere else this trip. We're staying at the AC Recoletos and aren't averse to walking. I'm a strict vegetarian and my husband is a devout carnivore, but I'm happy piecing together starters/sides. We don't need a big sit-down meal experience, so a tapas bar or something casual would fit the bill. We love good wine and tend to prefer small plates (so we can try lots of things!)...any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
