Oven advice

My Thermador oven died on Dec. 23, just in time for Christmas! With 17 family members staying at my house and expecting turkey for Christmas dinner. Thank goodness for my next-door neighbor and her oven.

The repair person says a total fix will cost around $1000. When the oven went the pyrotechnics also killed the electronics, so replacing the baking element is just the beginning. The clock/electronics need to be rebuilt since Thermador doesn't make them any more. I also need to fix the oven light and the rear fan. Ugh.

The oven is 10 years old. A new oven with the features I want (convection, etc.) would probably cost around $5000. So I am on the fence about fixing vs. replacing but am leaning towards the repair.

If I do go for a new oven, should I stick with Thermador or maybe try a Viking or a Wolf? Do you have an oven that you just LOVE?? I bake my own bread, so my oven gets a lot of use. Right now I'm limping along with a toaster oven and my Advantium (halogen) oven.
