Hey all! It's been a reeeeeeally rough six months but I have returned on the brighter side of things, knock on wood. Missed y'all's wisdom and wit and shared cooking knowledge...
So. Last year I was doing our group's "poverty lunches" for a buck a pop. Well, we've decided to thumb our noses at Lenten fasting once a week and have giant rich Sunday dinners for the next few weeks, for $5 per person!! A king's ransom by comparison! This week I'm expecting 14 guests so I'll have a budget of $70 (plus someone is bringing his beautiful homemade sourdough and someone is providing fancy-schmancy locally-roasted coffee to have with our dessert).
I need inspiration, so who else could I possibly turn to? Help me, 'hounds! Your go-to dishes or ideas for groups like this? It's good to be back! :)
ETA: Last week's meal, the first in this bunch, had an Aussie theme: an enormous meat pie, a salad of arugula and roasted butternut squash, mushy peas, and a *really* enormous Pavlova!
