Hello,

I'm a single mom of a 15 month old, coming from the SF Bay Area to NYC for a wedding. I've been to NYC many times, lived here for a short stretch, but this will be the first time with my daughter. The last time I visited was a little over two years ago. Unfortunately I won't be able to hit as many of the places I love in NY, due to wedding festivities and having a toddler in tow, but I may have a couple of free lunches.

Mostly I'm looking for places to get drinks with my kid. Taking care of a toddler is exhausting, and I know I'm going to be needing a drink after a couple of hours at a playground or park. Looking for somewhere to have a beer or a glass of wine or even a cocktail while my daughter munches on snacks. Somewhere outdoors would be a bonus, as that's always better with a kid. My daughter is pretty chill and well behaved for a 15 month old, but still, you know, she's a toddler. Any kid-friendly beer gardens? There are quite a few in the bay area, so hoping there are some good options in Manhattan. So far my research only brings up places in Brooklyn.

I'm staying in the UES, and am most familiar with Harlem, Midtown, and East Village, but will be travelling all over to different parks/playgrounds. I will also be staying in Crown Heights one night, so if there is any place in that area, I'll take that rec as well. I'm really looking forward to eating some delicious Caribbean food that night, as that's one cuisine you can not really get in the bay area. Any places with particularly good mofongo or oxtail?

Thank you!
