Has anybody taken one of these? I went last night at the LCBO on Rideau Street and it was quite fun. Each week they feature a different chef who explains how to make each dish and you have a light (smaller portions) three course dinner with the appropriate wines. It's usually $50 a person. The class I took was "Islands in the Sun" and the chef, from the Ecole Cuisine et Vins d'Italie, made Pasta alla Norma (pasta, eggplant and basil) as the primi, Trout in Vernaccia Wine as the secondi and Cannoli Con Ricotta as the dolce. The wines we tried were a Chianti (Santedame 2001); a Pinot Grigio (Santa Margherita 2004); and a Muscato (Passito di Patelleria).
Next Tuesday's class is Beckta, which should be interesting. Both Stephen Beckta and Stephen Vardy (chef) will be there. It should be interesting. Hopefully I won't be Beckta-ed out. I'm going there Friday!
