Stopped into the new Otaez on Webster in Alameda yesterday morning for desayunos (breakfast). They open at 7 and have a very complete breakfast menu.

I ordered one of my favorites from our years and years in Texas, huevos con chorizo y papas, scrambled eggs with chorizo and potatoes. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros. Even at breakfast a large basket of fresh homemade chips was set on the table. The huevos con chorizo y papas was excellent, almost as good as I use to get in Texas. My wife very much enjoyed her huevos rancheros also. Both came with beans and rice. A basket of hot flour (could have had corn) tortillas was served with the breakfast.

Think this place will be a winner. There is also machaca on the breakfast menu, another one of my favorites. You can also order just a "regular breakfast" as in ham or bacon and eggs with toast and country style potatoes.

Lunch and dinner menu looked equally as good. We had lunch there earlier in the week and it was very good. Plus, they have a complete bar serving any number of different maggies.
