osteria - good pasta - laurel heights

Last night my friends and I randomly walked into Osteria because we were in the neighborhood for a concert, and you know what, the food was great! We ordered meat tortelini, spinach pasta with mushroom and tomato sauce, and a caramel custard dessert (texture like a flan, looks like a flan), plus 2 cappuccino's. The bill came out to be less than $40. All of us were very happy with our food. We actually came back after the concert to order some more food for my roommate at home, and this 4th person agreed that the food was great also. (subtle is a word that comes to mind when i try to describe the flavor of their food).

The restaurant is smallish but quite nice, you can dress for a concert and walk in there not feeling out of place. The owner is friendly and efficient. The restaurant was packed last night, yet he was able to seat us in 5 minutes. The staffs were very helpful and friendly, they had no problem with us rushing through the whole meal - they followed our pace(we only had 45 minutes to order, eat, pay, run). Oh, and if you like cappuccino, my friend said Osteria has one of the best in her opinion ( i didn't try any)

i'm taking my boyfriend and sister there this weekend to try other dishes.
