Orris Review

Had the pleasure of dining at Orris last Friday. The place is small, the decor is simple yet modern. The restaurant is tapas style, so the waiter suggested we order 3 and see how we feel and maybe order another 3.

We started off with the thinly sliced BEETS with BASQUE SHEEP'S MILK CHEESE, which i thought went together nicely. I wasn't crazy about the herb on top, but I liked the beets and cheese together. It was a simple dish but a nice starter.

Next we had the grilled QUAIL served with baby greens. I'm not a big chicken (bird) person, so this was pretty good, being tender and juicy and tasty.

Next we had ravioli filled with SHRIMP MOUSSE and SHITAKE MUSHROOM sauce. This was my favorite. I loved the sauce so much, I finished the mini loaf of warm soft white bread with a crispy crust (I don't really like bread).

Lstly we got the spicy and garlick-y mussels (forgot the name) and those were very fresh and flavorful. This sauce was tasty too.

4 dishes and we were stuffed. Each dish was about $6-8? The prices were reasonable. We were too full to have any dessert, but we will definitely return soon.

It definitely is a nice addition to Sawtelle.
