Orochon Ramen in Little Tokyo

Eric Eto | Dec 21, 200205:28 PM

Only a couple weeks new, Orochon serves up some pretty good ramen, especially for those of you who like it "kicked up a notch." They serve up your standard shoyu (soy sauce), shio (salt-based), and miso ramen, and you can choose from 8 levels of heat. 1-6 (6 being the mildest), and two more levels of extra heat for those really daring. The cha-shu (roast pork) comes as an extra, but it's essential for the ramen. I ordered a level 4 and it was pretty spicy already. I can't imagine what a level 1 or higher would be like. Seems they've done a good bit of marketing in the japanese language papers/magazines as it was pretty busy on a rainy saturday. They're located on the third floor of Weller Court by the New Otani Hotel.
