I'll be visiting New Orleans in May for the 2nd weekend of Jazz Fest. We're a family group of 3 couples, a 2 year old, and a 1 year old. We're planning to take it fairly easy because of the toddlers, spending half-days at the festival and doing low-key exploring otherwise. We're staying in Mid-City close to street car lines.

I'm hoping for suggestions on the following:
1) bars and restaurants where we could enjoy great food and be welcome with young kids
2) local markets where we could shop for food to cook at home - shopping is one of our favorite ways to enjoy a new city
3) great take-out options in or close to Mid-City
4) best Vietnamese food in town

Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome! Thanks so much for your advice.
