New Orleans Lawrences's rum Pund Cakes

Can anyone tell me if any bakery in New Orleans still makes the rum pound cake like the ones Lawrence's Bakery sold. They were the best rum cakes ever and always reminded me of Christmas. Now that my family will have a Christmas family reunion, I would love to surprise them with a cake. So many of us are no longer in New Orleans that the cake would be a little bit of home. I can still remember the smell of the cake, the moist bottom - sticky from the rum, and the chopped pecans which had fallen from the cake in the bottom of the bag. I remember cutting small slices so the cake would last longer and we could enjoy the flavor and the "sense of something special" just a little longer.

Please, if you know of a bakery that makes them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Longing for the fragrance of the cake when you untwist the tie of the bag,

Delaware Gal
