I am going to New Orleans for a wedding at Latrobe's the first weekend of December. I'll be with a friend and we are both foodies from NYC. Our main objective for the long weekend is to try as much delicious food (mostly cajun/creole that we can't really get in NYC) as we can, try some awesome drinks and soak up the atmosphere. We are staying at the Hotel Monteleone.
As of now we are planning dinner Thurs. night at Cochon. And thinking brunch on Sat. at Commander's Palace before the wedding, which is in the evening. Since we don't have a lot of time, we were thinking of trying to put together a food/drink crawl for Friday. We want to keep a leisurely pace, maybe take the Streetcar and try some stuff along that, before ending up in the FQ and doing stuff there. We won't have a car, but like walking and we sort of plan for this to be our way to really explore the city. Does anyone have suggestions or done a crawl like this before? What are the must stops/things to try?
Appreciate any suggestions or input!
