Does anyone know of the New Orleans Cooking School?
They offer both demo and hands-on classes, and I was considering doing one during our trip. From what I understand, the demo classes are either two hour or three hour classes. 10a.m.-1p.m. and 2p.m to 4 p.m. They are $25 a person. You watch and listen to the chef prepare the food. Then you eat what he has prepared, and you take the recipes home with you.
The private hands-on classes allow you to decide on the menu beforehand, and you cook with the chef, then sit down and eat with him/her, including wine, beer, etc. These are $100.00 per person.
Any thoughts on this? The hands-on classes are available on Thursday and Monday during our trip. From 5p.m. -7p.m. I'm not sure if it's worth it. It could be a tremendous amount of fun, or it could be a hokey waist of time and money.
