Oriental Tea House-San Leandro

anton | Apr 5, 200309:52 PM

It's a generic name.
And the neighborhood is an odd one for a dimsum house-a residential neighborhood next to the freeway in san leandro.
but it is worth a try if you are in the neighborhood.

It's called Oriental Tea House and it is at 604 macarthur blvd. in san leandro, right off the 580. (foothill exit) (510-562-2828)

But its real virtue is the variety of dimsum they present. It has the usual hargow, stuffed green pepper, and shumai that other places have and it is as good as any place in Oakland.

But it also has stuff like Foiled Chicken (really chicken barbequed in paper, wrapped in foil), scallop shumai, all kinds of dishes with sharfan noodles that we had no room left to try. (it looked like tofu sheets or gluten sheets?)

Dishes are around $1.60 for the usual shumai and about $2.80 for most of the rest.

anyone else been there who can share an opinion?
